Bug fixes
{{watch_history}} now actually updates after first sync
Found by user testing: the default sync mode (Overwrite existing note body = off) only updated frontmatter on existing notes — but {{watch_history}} is rendered into the body. Result: watch history was frozen at note-creation time and never reflected new episodes you watched after that.
Fix: machine-managed section markers using Obsidian's native %% ... %% comment syntax. The watch history block now renders as:
%% trakt:watch-history:start %%
## Watch History
- S1E1 — 2024-01-15 21:30
- S1E2 — 2024-01-16 22:00
%% trakt:watch-history:end %%On every sync, when Sync watch history (detailed) is on, the engine finds these markers and replaces what's between them. Anything outside the markers — the rest of your body, your hand-written notes, custom sections — stays untouched.
Migration for existing notes
Notes you created on 0.1.0 don't have the markers yet. No manual action needed — on the next sync after upgrading to 0.1.1, the engine auto-appends a marker-wrapped Watch History section to the end of each note's body. Subsequent syncs find the markers and update in place.
If you want the section to live somewhere other than the bottom of the note, just move the marker block (start marker, content, end marker, all together) wherever you want. Sync will keep finding it by markers.
Coverage
19 new smoke tests (117 total passing) covering: replace between markers, append when no markers exist, no-op when detailed mode is off, clear-to-empty-markers when data has been removed, movie vs show body shape, prose preservation around markers.
Compatibility
- 0.1.0 → 0.1.1: notes get auto-migrated on next sync
- Min Obsidian version: 1.4.0
