Visitron v1.3.0
Release notes
Visitron on macOS and Linux
Visitron now runs on macOS on Apple Silicon as a signed, notarized disk image and on Linux as a Flatpak, alongside the Windows setup program. Each release carries all three files; the download page offers each one.
The macOS and Linux versions are the same window without the Windows tray: closing the window quits Visitron and the daily check runs while it is open. Starting at sign-in remains a Windows setting, so Settings does not offer it elsewhere.
Your GoatCounter key and GitHub token are kept in the system's own store on each platform: Credential Manager on Windows, the Keychain on macOS and the keyring on Linux. The history lives in the folder each system keeps for a program's own data (Application Support on macOS, the XDG data folder on Linux), so no cache clean-up can remove it.
When a newer Visitron is released, the update check now offers the file for the platform you are on: the setup program on Windows, the disk image on macOS and the Flatpak bundle on Linux.
The Flatpak runs with no access to your files: Visitron needs only the network, the keyring and its own folders.
