prompt-rail 0.8.0

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 15 Oct 13:17
9e6132f

Added

  • /prompt-rail-toggle, a bare command for a keybinding (command:prompt-rail-toggle in ~/.claude/keybindings.json). It hides the rail, or brings it back in the layout last on, horizontal until another was used (#59).

Fixed

  • On Windows, the rail no longer stays empty for a transcript over 4 MiB. It streamed the file with tail, which most Windows sessions do not have on their PATH. Where tail cannot start, a file on a Windows drive or share is now streamed by PowerShell (#57, #60).
  • The warning that a large transcript could not be read is no longer lost when a resumed session raises it before the session is bound. It is now said once the session starts (#60).

prompt-rail 0.7.1

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 03 Oct 07:42
2ac50fb

Fixed

  • In the Claude desktop app, the horizontal rail no longer draws a hovered prompt's card over the dim line of the prompt being read, which showed both texts at once. The line above the bars now shows the hovered card alone, and the prompt being read is named beside the bars, with room kept for it however many bars there are (#55).
  • In the desktop app, the horizontal rail no longer lights two bars at once, the app's focus ring on one and the hover on another. The bars there take clicks, not the focus ring (#55).
  • Toasts no longer start with "prompt-rail: prompt-rail:", since the engine already names the plugin (#55).

Changed

  • A jump the desktop app cannot make now says once a session, in plain words, that jumps cannot land there, instead of the engine's "transcript not scrollable here" on every click. The app gives a plugin no way to scroll its transcript, so jumps from the rail do not work there yet (#55).

Added

  • /prompt-rail-next and /prompt-rail-prev take no argument, so a keybinding (command:prompt-rail-next) can step through the prompts, mid-turn too (#52).
  • /prompt-rail <n> (or #<n>), first, last and find <words> jump to a prompt by its number, to the oldest or newest, or to the newest prompt that holds the words (#52).
  • The horizontal rail can be driven from the keyboard. ctrl+x tab rings the bar of the prompt being read, ← → move the ring across the bars on screen and show its prompt for a few seconds, Enter jumps there, and Esc returns to the prompt input (#52).

Fixed

  • A jump to one of the last prompts no longer marks an earlier one as read. When its turn is too short to scroll to the top, the rail now stays on the prompt jumped to until you scroll or a new turn starts (#52).

prompt-rail 0.6.1

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 29 Sep 07:24

Fixed

  • The heavy bar no longer jumps for a moment to a later prompt, the newest while a turn runs, as the transcript scrolls. A row that stays whole in the viewport does not report while others scroll past it, so the rail lost the row at the top. It now keeps each row until it reports that it left, and places the reader after a jump it makes, whatever rows left without saying so (#50).

Removed

  • The vertical pane no longer gives its first nine rows the digits 1 to 9 as hotkeys. A click focuses the pane, so the rows grew a 1: prefix and shifted under the pointer, and the digits reached only the oldest nine prompts. A click and /prompt-rail next and prev remain the ways to jump (#48).

prompt-rail 0.5.3

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 26 Sep 12:12
23a94fc

Fixed

  • A prompt shows one bar from the moment it is sent, whether it was queued while a turn ran, delivered into the running turn, or sent from Remote Control; before, it could show two or three bars (#44).
  • A long session's transcript over 4 MiB is now read, with tail from where the last read ended and without holding the session while it loads, so its prompts are listed in order with their turn details, after a reload too (#46, fixes #45).
  • A prompt drawn under an id derived from its stored uuid is listed once, places the reader correctly, and can be jumped to (#43).

Changed

  • A prompt delivered into a running turn is listed on its own, and the turn's details stay on the prompt that started it (#44).

prompt-rail 0.5.2

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 26 Sep 06:06
8a3a53e

Fixed

  • A prompt sent while an artifact is open in the viewer is now listed by its typed text, not by the <artifact-view-context> block the engine puts ahead of it. A tag the person types is kept as typed (#40).

Fixed

  • Jumping to a prompt and then scrolling no longer flips the heavy bar back to the prompt jumped to, nor moves the transcript a turn away. The rail now redraws only its own sites instead of every transcript row it hooks (#38).

prompt-rail 0.5.0

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 26 Sep 06:07
1a0b881

Changed

  • The rail defaults to the horizontal band above the prompt. The engine seats an unasked pane only from 144 columns, so the vertical rail stayed hidden on a usual terminal. A mode someone already chose stays as it is (#37).

Other

  • CI validates and tests the plugin on every push, every pull request and weekly against the latest Claude Code (#35).
  • The README is shorter and leads with figures, and it says the desktop app shows no rail (#34, #36).

prompt-rail 0.4.0

@oikon48 oikon48 released this 26 Sep 06:07
e26d115

The plugin is renamed from turn-rail to prompt-rail. This release also carries the changes of 0.3.0 and 0.3.1, which were not tagged.

Changed

  • The plugin, the /prompt-rail command, the pane id, the mode setting key and the marketplace entry take the new name. The repository moves to oikon48/prompt-rail (#33).
  • The horizontal rail folds into a text line over one row of bars, the bar of the prompt being read heavy. The colored turn marks are gone, and how a turn went stays in its hover card (#27).
  • The rail no longer pins a status line (#27).

Added

  • An off mode, chosen in the same setting or with /prompt-rail off (#27).
  • While no prompt is on screen, the text line shows the newest one (#27).

Fixed

  • The focus ring stays off the horizontal rail's bars and the vertical pane's rows (#27).
  • /prompt-rail <mode> switches the mode even where the setting has no /config row, as in the desktop app's SDK sessions, and keeps it across a reload of the module for that session (0.3.1, #32).
