BifrOSt 0.2.0
Íslenskt · frjálst · byggt á Arch Linux — Icelandic-first developer workstation and live/install ISO based on Arch Linux.
What 0.2 provides
- Icelandic-first installer and COSMIC desktop
- Whole-disk GPT/Btrfs installation with UEFI systemd-boot
- Optional LUKS2 encryption
- Mandatory
baseprofile plus optional Rust, containers, web, and Python profiles - Pre-wipe target and package-source revalidation
- Retained installer diagnostics and per-user first-boot welcome
- Icelandic locale, keyboard, timezone, and original BifrOSt artwork
Safety and qualification
0.2 performs whole-disk installation only. Every partition and all data on the confirmed target are removed. Installation requires x86_64 UEFI with Secure Boot disabled.
A user-reported physical run on a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 is recorded as Partial because the tested-media digest and complete checklist were not retained. The published ISO was smoke-tested with QEMU/KVM and OVMF through a usable COSMIC live session; QEMU does not qualify physical hardware.
This release does not claim offline completeness, bit-for-bit reproducibility, rollback, Secure Boot support, or a full physical-hardware Pass.
