Hi @Akiramenai24, seems to me you would get better results by splitting the 2 topics, one discussion for "Feature Request: Unified GUI Settings Panel" and the other for "Bug Report: Wi-Fi throughput far below plan & below dual-boot OS". |

Hi , thank you for your response, that was posted by the built in agent.
all I did was simply describe the issue.
Thank you.

Otherwise, you'll either (1) get discussions all mixed up, or (more
likely) (2) no response, as folks will start reading one, then the other,
think it's too much hassle to answer both at the same time, and skip to
another easier discussion ;)
Thanks for your contribution!

OK, but "it was posted by the built in agent" won't get your issue fixed, as this issue is currently invisible to people working on fixing issues. If you do care about getting it resolved, my suggestion is to copy/paste that part into the link I put above. |
Uh oh!

Feature Request: Unified GUI Settings Panel
Omarchy needs a single, graphical Settings panel (launchable from the system menu / bar) to manage common system settings, instead of requiring users to hand-edit Lua/TOML/JSON config files and run CLI tools.
Why
Configuration is spread across manual files (
monitors.lua,input.lua,shell.json, etc.) and CLI utilities (pactl, powerprofilesctl, hyprctl) that aren't user-friendly. Changing resolution, audio device, or power profile means knowing monitor/sink/source names and editing configs with no validation. For a distro marketed as beautiful and modern, this is a significant UX gap.Suggested areas to include
monitors.lua)Concrete problems
outputname and hand-edit~/.config/hypr/monitors.lua.pactl/CLI.performancepower profile is available — the system only exposesbalancedandpower-saver, missingperformance(present on other OSes on the same machine). Root cause: CPU driver isacpi-cpufreqwith no/sys/firmware/acpi/platform_profileinterface, sopower-profiles-daemonshows aplaceholderplatform driver. Omarchy should ship a config exposing a real platform profile, or provide a GUI governor switcher.Bug Report: Wi-Fi throughput far below plan & below dual-boot OS
Summary
The Wi-Fi adapter delivers ~140 Mbps on a 500 Mbps plan. The same hardware, network, router, AP, and location under a dual-boot CachyOS setup delivers the full ~500 Mbps. This rules out ISP/router/backend as the cause and points to a platform/software difference in Omarchy.
Hardware (verified)
10ec:c821), driverrtw88_8821ce(mainlinertw88), 1×1:1 (single spatial stream).rx 390.0 MBit/s / tx 433.3 MBit/son channel 48 (80 MHz), signal-25 dBm(excellent).Analysis
rtw88module hasdisable_lps_deep=N, meaning deep LPS is ON — a known cause of severe throughput collapse / intermittent wakeups on Realtek cards. Mainlinertw88is also historically slower than the vendor/proprietary driver.Recommended investigation / fix (requesting upstream help)
rtw88_core.disable_lps_deep=1(or runtime write via/sys/module/rtw88_core/parameters/disable_lps_deep).rtw88or a vendor/proprietary driver (e.g.rtl8821ce-dkmsfrom lwfinger), and whether it runs with power save disabled. If CachyOS uses a vendor driver, Omarchy shipping mainlinertw88(with deep LPS on) is the likely regression source. What I need from maintainers
rtw88_core.disable_lps_deep=1(or a UDEV/NM rule forcingpowersave disabled) by default.performancepower profile when the platform has noplatform_profileinterface.monitors.lua/ configs by hand.System details
