UrbanLens 0.3.0 is a source release of the dependency-free exact nearest-city engine.

Highlights

• audits and pins a 44,691-row historical world-cities snapshot before indexing
• canonicalizes coordinates as exact E7 integers and builds a deterministic balanced unit-sphere k-d tree
• verifies accelerated results against a complete full-scan ranking oracle
• emits bounded canonical JSON receipts binding source, topology, query, results, and traversal accounting
• includes seven source-derived SVGs, actual CLI result panels, and a four-query edge-case evidence workload
• passes Python 3.11–3.14 CI, distribution/install smoke tests, and extended CodeQL for Python and Actions

Data and claim boundary

Application code is MIT licensed. The included historical CSV is separately attributed under CC BY 4.0 in DATA_LICENSE.md; identification of the exact SimpleMaps 1.76-era snapshot is an evidence-based inference, not authenticated provenance. Results use a fixed spherical model and are not current geopolitical data, routing advice, survey-grade geodesy, or a wall-clock performance claim.

No prebuilt binaries are attached. GitHub provides the source archive, including the separately attributed frozen data snapshot, for the reviewed commit.
