Version 1.5.0 turns two existing teaching examples into complete, inspectable
public demonstrations and makes every workshop easier to navigate on desktop,
tablet, and mobile.

What changed

• Added live paper companions for:
  • Real-Time Tool Detection in Laparoscopic Datasets for Surgical Training in
    Low-Resource Settings;
  • 7-DoF Laparoscopic Peg Transfer Dataset for Surgical Skill Assessment;
    and
  • the accepted MICCAI 2026 BTPN paper.
• Preserved source figures, captions, rights, transformations, reported
  values, and limitations in a dated asset record.
• Replaced the annotation teaching recreations with static, browser-local
  adaptations of the authentic public frame-annotator and surgical-annotator
  frontends.
• Expanded the frame demonstration to the first ten authorised Hamlyn
  presentation frames and retained exactly three disclosed public LASK
  examples.
• Added a floating workshop table of contents with current position and
  completion context.
• Matched each continuation card to the colour of its destination workshop.
• Fixed narrow columns, text overflow, and responsive layout behaviour across
  mobile, tablet, and desktop widths.
• Published annotation specification schema 1.5.0.

Evidence and limitations

The
paper companion record
documents the copied figures and tables, rights, transformations, hashes, and claim
boundaries. The companions explain and compare reported values. They do not run
inference, retrain a model, independently reproduce the papers, or establish
clinical validity. The BTPN page does not claim an official proceedings URL
before one exists.

The
annotation media record
documents the frontend commit, ten approved frame images, three LASK images and
annotations, transformations, hashes, local browser adapter, and public-data
boundary. The Hamlyn frames are a lossy recovery from an author-owned
presentation video, not missing raw prototype frames. Browser edits are
temporary teaching changes rather than new research labels.

The table of contents reports interaction with the tutorial interface. It does
not certify learning, research completion, governance approval, or scientific
quality.
