| The recommendations made by the RFC (zarr.json at the root, sorted metadata files) | ||

I would want to consider what other markers may be useful before progressing to the Zarr level. I simplified from three markers down to one marker when clarifying the comment. Those markers may still yet have utility, but I have not clearly demonstrated them yet.
It might be good to gain further experience before generalizing to Zarr itself.
