OmegaLinux NEXT Deep Blue Sea (R2) - QoL Update!

New OmegaLinux Release!

This is a quality of life update along with other minimal improvements, as well the version to bring back Arch base. Last NEXT release before this one was on February of this year.

FULL Changelog (Updated 21 August 2026)

• Added volume control plugin back to panel and removed pasystray
• More debloated
• Added Chaotic AUR to repos (i did this because AUR packages have to be compiled, older hardware isn't decent enough to build packages)
• Now using CachyOS LTS kernel
• 2 new utilities: Keyboard Layout, About PC
• New system sounds including USB connect/disconnect sounds
• New wallpaper (photo taken by me!!)
• Transparent panel
• Packages updated as of 21 August 2026.

Note: I've decided to keep maintaining OmegaLinux 3.X (lubuntu base) and will go EOL when ubuntu 24.04 does. There will be no omegalinux 4. "OmegaLinux 4.0 Synapse" based on 26.04 was actually planned, but a few weeks ago i ended up discarding it.

Every month an updated iso will be uploaded here on this tag.

• Rebuilt from scratch, and so far i tested it feels more stable.
• Finaly figured out how to fix Pipewire (so we got rid of pulseaudio).
• Added full bluetooth support.
• Updated fastfetch to 2.58.0.
• Remove every SINGLE lubuntu/qt/lxqt mention i ever know
• Updated packages as of 12 february 2026.
• Updated Loc-OS kernel to 6.1.161-loc-os (made by Nico, aalways shout out to him)

Known issues

When you boot into live, the animation will say ''Lubuntu 24.04 LTS'', honestly idk why this happens, but after installing the OS plymouth will work normally.
