Map defaults in the global and user settings: basemap provider, zoom limits and default bounds
Eleven more basemaps, taking the list from 29 to 40: Mapbox, National Geographic and the Stamen maps under their Stadia names, which closes a gap against Omeka Classic. The dropdown is grouped by provider, with credential requirements shown on the group labels
Global settings for a Carto API key and a Mapbox access token
A group select control inside the Map by Groups map, with the item filters as a map control and your selection kept when you return to the groups map
A TimelineJS theme choice in the block configuration, with Contrast as the new default
Fixed
A basemap that needs a credential you have not entered falls back to OpenStreetMap, instead of serving watermarked tiles
Events that share a timeline date all appear on the map
Map by Groups item counts respect item visibility
Timeline interval labels show BCE years the way item pages do, instead of a raw signed year like "-0001"
The admin resource map and the block preview follow the user, global and site basemap settings instead of ignoring them
Improved
A round of accessibility work across TimelineJS and the map controls: contrast failures fixed in the Dark and Default themes, focus rings on the slide navigation, tooltips on the menubar, accessible names on the map inputs and the group select, and consistent styling across Omeka themes
Behavior change
Grayscale was hardcoded to Carto Positron and appeared on every map whatever a site had configured. It is now a keyless provider, so a site using Grayscale sees a different layer. Stored settings are never rewritten, so entering a Carto key restores a site's own choice with no migration
