First public release of OpenRelay — a vertical operations engine where vertical behavior is data (RelayPacks) and integrations are data (MCP capability bindings).
Highlights
- Deterministic kernel: funnel machine, sequence scheduler, action firewall, append-only audit — application code stays vertical-agnostic; all vertical content lives in
packs/. - Both sides of MCP: an audited MCP server (
POST :8787/mcp+ stdio) for any MCP client, and an MCP client pool so packs can bind any server that provides a required capability (email.send,leads.fetch, …). Builtin servers wrap Resend, Gmail, Meta, and AI adapters. - Admin app: Next.js 15 + Tailwind v4 + shadcn/ui — dashboard, queue, pipeline, clients, ops, setup, and the
/askagent console; token-gated public intake form and client uploads. - Worker: pg-boss queues, webhook server, event-capability poller, agent loop, and CLIs for pack validation/activation and contact import.
- Example pack:
packs/example-lash-agency.pack.yaml+ 13 templates demonstrate a complete vertical (fictional tenant). - Production deployments fail closed when signing/auth secrets are unset; dev keeps zero-config fallbacks.
See OPENRELAY_ARCHITECTURE.md for the complete architecture map and OPENRELAY_V2_MCP_SPEC.md for the MCP platform layer design. 117 tests pass against Postgres 16.
