✨ Features
-
Docker Support: You can now run YTSage inside a Docker container and access the full desktop application directly from any web browser without needing to install Python, Qt, or FFmpeg on your host machine (#3, Thanks to (@ohhai-kthxbai))
- Browser Access: Stream the desktop GUI in high-frame-rate HTML5/WebRTC via KasmVNC at
http://localhost:3000(or HTTPS on port3001). - Batteries Included: Pre-configured with bundled dependencies including FFmpeg, yt-dlp, and Deno.
- Persistent Volumes: Save media to host
./downloadsand application data/history to./config.
- Browser Access: Stream the desktop GUI in high-frame-rate HTML5/WebRTC via KasmVNC at
-
Settings Export & Import: You can now export your YTSage settings to a JSON file and import them later, making it easy to transfer your configuration between installations or share with others (Download Settings → File)
-
Download queue: Configure multiple downloads and run them together. New "Add to queue" and "Queue" buttons let you stage jobs instead of downloading immediately.
- Queued downloads run sequentially, each using the exact settings selected when it was added.
- The queue is saved between application launches.
- Failed or cancelled jobs stay in the queue and can be retried.
- The queue dialog supports reviewing, removing, and clearing finished jobs.
- See the Usage section in the README for details (#107, thanks @avtandil33).
-
Audio format conversion for video downloads: Audio format conversion now applies to videos, not just audio-only downloads. The selected video stream is copied without re-encoding while the audio track is converted to your preferred format (AAC, MP3, FLAC, WAV, Opus, Vorbis, M4A) (#145, thanks @AmandaClarke65).
-
Reverse order for playlists: Added the option to list playlists in reverse order (#155, thanks @christubuntu).
🔧 Improvements
- Firefox as Default: Firefox is now the default recommended browser for extracting login cookies, improving success rates for private videos.
- Red glow effect and custom styling added to the main Download button.
- The queue's Start queue button now shares the same glow styling.
- Secondary buttons (custom options, about, history, time range, settings, and queue) are now disabled and hidden while a video is processing, preventing conflicting actions and making the UI cleaner during downloads.
- i18n: Added missing translation keys, including
reset_all, to all supported language files. - Added a note in the cookies dialog if Chrome/Brave cookies extraction doesn't work (#104, thanks to @Seryi3).
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Deno Versioning: Replace static GitHub "latest" release URLs with versioned build URLs from the official Deno release CDN (#154, Thanks to (@LuckCircles))
- Fixed an unnecessary horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the playlist selection dialog.
- History: Fixed potential thread crash on history dialog close with robust loader thread interruption
- Downloads: Fixed race condition in download thread initialization that prevented proper control state management during download start
