Covenant Compute for Microsoft Agent Framework — Python v0.1.0
Agents built with Microsoft Agent Framework can buy inference on Covenant Compute using Solana USDC.
This native Python x402 V2 client exposes an official prompt-only FunctionTool. Application code fixes the wallet, trusted identities, model, generation limits, purchase UUID and spending ceilings. It shares the existing JavaScript client journal, retaining pending payments and completed results across restarts and language changes.
Mainnet acceptance
The installed wheel ran Microsoft's official Agent and persistent workflow. A separately budgeted planner selected the Covenant tool for a labeled sample incident report. The workflow paid 0.05 USDC, verified the signed response and finalized transfer, then replayed its saved pre-purchase checkpoint in a fresh process with identical payment, job and output and zero network calls or new signatures. The initial pending response reused its original authorization.
Finalized payment. Job: b3ec6d09-7087-4a60-80a2-4d1898e8dcac.
The signed receipt binds the named operator's output to the request; it does not prove answer correctness or model weights. Unedited sample output and explicit review notes are included: the generated incident draft has timing/arithmetic errors and requires human review. It has no incident-system access. The planner is separately metered and is not included in the Covenant purchase price.
Install
Python 3.11+. Download the wheel and SHA256SUMS, verify the checksum, then:
python -m pip install './covenant_compute_x402-0.1.0-py3-none-any.whl[agent-framework]'Wheel SHA256: 0613775ced5316871b2248fd9942b523cee548e8e53e8222e8db614165023325.
Use the demo extra for the optional saved workflow and separately configured planner. Its process lock supports Linux and macOS. Register covenant_inference_tool from covenant_compute_x402.agent_framework with the official Agent; see the README for the complete application setup.
Source and setup · Release evidence.
71 source tests and 71 installed-wheel tests passed, alongside both Compute documentation validators. The exact packaged modules matched the tested source; clean installation and dependency checks passed. Checks cover request canonicalization, signed native receipts, payment-message verification, cross-language recovery, shared budgets, checkpoint replay and negative controls. The attached acceptance archive excludes private wallet, journal and credentials.
This is an inference tool integration, not a full Agent Framework model backend or a Microsoft partnership. Package 5 remains partial; other framework adapters are separate. Existing Solana settlement, staking and fees are unchanged.
