Release 2021.1
What’s New in This Release:
| Title | High-level description |
|---|---|
| Audio event detection - gvaaudiodetect | DL Streamer is expanding beyond video by adding support for audio analytics. A new element gvaaudiodetect is added for audio event detection using AclNet model. An end-to-end sample of the pipeline is also added to the samples folder. |
| A new element - gvametaaggregate | gvametaaggregate can combine the results from multiple branches. This allows the developers to create complex pipelines by splitting a pipeline into multiple branches for parallel processing and then combining the results from various branches. |
| Zero-copy between decode, resize/csc and inference elements on GPU | Enabled GPU memory surface sharing i.e. zero-copy of data between VAAPI decode, resize, csc and inference elements when GPU device is selected which improves the overall pipeline performance. |
| Support for GPU memory surface in gvatrack and gvawatermark | Enabled GPU memory at input and output of gvatrack and gvawatermark elements, thereby removing the need to explicitly convert the memory from GPU to CPU using vaapipostproc when inference is performed on GPU. This not only makes the pipelines portable between the devices with and without GPU but also improves the performance due to removal of a memory copy step. |
| Ubuntu 20.04 (Preview) | DL Streamer supports Ubuntu 20.04. On Ubuntu 20.04, DL Streamer will use the GStreamer and its plugins provided by the OS and thus, developers have access to all the elements provided by GStreamer default installation on Ubuntu 20.04 |
