Hi! MCP Toplist tracks 81,432 MCP servers across the major
registries, and OpenMetadata is currently ranked #128.

This PR adds a small live badge to your README showing that rank — it updates
automatically as the leaderboard changes:

MCP Toplist

Totally fine to close if you'd rather not — and if you'd like your server's
data corrected or removed from the leaderboard, just say so here or open an
issue at the site. Thanks for building OpenMetadata!

Greptile Summary

Adds a live MCP Toplist rank badge and leaderboard link near the top of the project README.

Confidence Score: 5/5

The PR appears safe to merge.

The documentation-only change adds a valid Markdown badge and introduces no concrete functional, security, or build failure.

❌ PR checklist incomplete

This PR cannot be merged until the following are addressed on its linked issue:

  • No GitHub issue is linked. Link an issue in the Development section of the PR (or add Fixes #12345 to the description). For a same-org cross-repo issue, add Fixes open-metadata/<repo>#123 to the description.

The fields live on the linked issue in the Shipping project (open the issue → right sidebar → Projects). After you set them, re-run this check (or push a commit) — issue/project changes do not re-trigger it automatically.

Maintainers can bypass this check by adding the skip-pr-checks label.

⚠️ Security: README embeds third-party badge/link from unverified domain

This adds a live image and hyperlink pointing to mcptoplist.com, a third-party domain not controlled by the project. The badge SVG is fetched at render time, so its owner can change its contents at any point (e.g. to display misleading, promotional, or inappropriate imagery) and can track viewers of the README via the image request. Adding a persistent outbound endorsement link to an external commercial leaderboard also lends the project's reputation to a site whose content is outside maintainer control. Recommend declining this unsolicited promotional change, or if desired, hosting a static badge asset in-repo instead of hot-linking an external, mutable SVG.
