OpenPdfEdit 0.1.6
The first build with the paid tools gated, and a round of fixes for
things that only showed up in real use.
New: OCR in your browser. Make a scan searchable without installing
anything — the recogniser downloads once, about 3 MB, and then works
offline. The desktop app still uses a local Tesseract if you have one.
Changed: watermark and OCR are Supporter tools. One purchase of
1,000 credits unlocks both, once, on your account. Every other tool is
free and needs no account.
Fixed: watermark density. Turning it down now spaces the marks out
and leaves them the same size, instead of making them larger and fewer.
Fixed: undo after page numbering, and after flatten. Both reported
"unknown document handle" and left you unable to take the change back.
Fixed: text fields showed their text twice, at two different sizes.
Fixed: deleting a text field left it in the document, so the next
field you drew arrived holding the deleted one's value.
Fixed: signing in with a wallet or Nostr. Sign-in opens a tab now —
extensions cannot reliably prompt from a popup window, which is why
those refused while Google worked.
macOS builds carry an ad-hoc signature and are not notarised: first
launch needs Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, once.
