✨ OpenWA 5.3.0 — your session travels light

One encrypted JSON file. A lot less baggage when you move your session!

✨ What's new

  • 🔒️ Compact auth is the default. {sessionId}.data.json replaces the persistent browser-profile folder, with encrypted auth and data payloads.
  • 📨 Pick up pending messages. Replay through onMessage and acknowledge after your handlers finish. Retries are at least once, so deduplicate side effects.
  • ♻️ Keep your storage setup. Existing filenames, paths, seeds and S3 settings still work through the same PicoS3 transport.
  • 🔒️ Cleaner diagnostics. Session payloads and S3 credentials are redacted from debug responses.

🚚 Upgrading

Pair once for compact auth, or set legacyDataDirAuth: true to keep your existing browser profile. There's no portableSession option or key-provider setup.

The adapter is WhatsApp-build-gated. Live browser/S3 acceptance and full crash recovery remain unverified.

🔖 Version alignment

21 companion packages move to 5.3.0 with no separate feature changes.
