Codex use high CPU

Hello Codex Development Team,

I switched from Antigravity to ChatGPT Plus, and I updated Codex to version 26.721.11231.0 two days ago.

My work environment is a laptop with a 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD.

The problems I am currently experiencing are as follows:

1. I have noticed that Codex is very efficient with RAM usage. However, when the main Codex agent is running a task, CPU usage reaches around 60% to 100%.

When I assign a task to a sub-agent—I currently only dare to use one sub-agent—the CPU usage becomes even higher and often stays at 90% to 100% for a long time.

As a result, while a task is running, the entire laptop becomes noticeably slow. Even other lightweight applications become laggy.

2. I previously used Antigravity IDE 2.x and Cursor IDE 3.x for a long time.

Although these two IDEs use much more RAM, possibly several times more than Codex, their CPU usage while running tasks is usually around 20% to 60%, averaging about 40%.

Because of this, I can still use Chrome, Notepad++, and other work applications smoothly while their tasks are running.

I hope the Codex team can improve this issue as soon as possible.

What I want to point out is that I am not the only person experiencing this problem. My colleagues and friends are using newer and more powerful laptops, but they are also experiencing prolonged high CPU usage and system lag.
