Hi everyone! I’m the author of codex-sdlc, an open-source plugin and repository framework for Codex. I’d love feedback from others working with coding agents.
The idea is to give Codex a repeatable Software Development Life Cycle: start with a feature request, coordinate the delivery roles, record the evidence, and return the result for human acceptance.
How it works
After project setup, you describe an outcome:
The workflow moves through:
Clarifications and material decisions come back to you along the way.
What the framework adds
The plugin supplies role skills. The repository framework supplies workflows, policies and recorded run state under
.sdlc/, so work can resume across sessions.Assignments constrain each role’s scope and writable paths. Reports track artifacts and collected command evidence, and implementation roles hand work back for review.
It also supports separate backend, web and mobile repositories, configurable models by role, and optional advisory AI Product Owner review.
Try it
You’ll need Codex, an existing application, Node.js
>=24.16.0 <25, and npm 11.Tell Codex where your application code lives, review the setup preview, and apply it. Once the setup checks pass, start with a small feature using the earlier prompt.
Initialization configures existing applications; it doesn’t generate a complete app from an empty folder. Running the workflow uses your Codex usage allowance.

I’d particularly appreciate feedback on setup, whether the role boundaries are useful, and what evidence you’d want before accepting a delivery.
If you already have a Codex workflow that works well, what would this need to add to be worth trying?
