The shortcut to search threads is supposed to be only Cmd+F on Mac, but the app also binds Ctrl+F, which should move the cursor forward in macos editors.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Wonder why is this closed? ⌃-F to move cursor forward is a long tradition on mac with unix root and used by many people. To mask its functionality in codex is quite annoying, not to mention there is actually ⌘-F mapped to "find" at the same time.

I also find this pretty weird — are people at OpenAI really moving the cursor with arrow keys all the time? That sounds kind of absurd.

Here’s my solution (super simple):
1. Install Karabiner-Elements
2. Open this link in your browser and click Import: https://ke-complex-modifications.pqrs.org/?q=ctrl%20f#ctrl_pnbfae_arrow This will add the rule to Karabiner-Elements (Alternatively: Settings → Complex Modifications → Add rule manually). Enable the rule.
3. The rule should work out of the box. However, if you’ve previously remapped keys in macOS settings (e.g. mapping Caps Lock → Ctrl), it might interfere — since this rule specifically targets left Ctrl. If you’ve done custom remapping, you probably know how to adjust it, so I won’t go into details.
