XTerms constantly crashing

What issue are you seeing?

I was using 0.103 (I believe) and gpt-5.3. Seeing that it's being depricated on 8th May I've downloaded the latest.

This is the first time I've tried using it and it repeated crashes on the first task I've asked it to do which is write a user guide for the python module that it was helping me create.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?

Not to crash and terminate the window.

We just recently had a computing cluster outage and I'm now seeing this message when I start codex:

WARNING: failed to clean up stale arg0 temp dirs: Directory not empty (os error 39)

Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, your logs apparently didn't upload successfully, so there's not much for me to look at here.

The arg0 message looks non-fatal, so I don't think that's involved in the crash.

Could you:

1. try /feedback again after repro'ing the crash
2. share the exact command used to launch Codex/xterm,
3. provide output of echo $TERM and xterm -version,
4. try to reproduce with:
   CODEX_TUI_DISABLE_KEYBOARD_ENHANCEMENT=1 codex --no-alt-screen

@etraut-openai if it helps, I can confirm that in clear xterm behaviour is wired, I can't scroll exterm up when codex "working", and consumes tons of CPU. When I run it in tmux in xterms, it works better.

nor I can scroll up in plain xterm when it asked for a patch.
