Following a message in the past 24 hours to update via 'npm -g install', ALT+ENTER no longer allows me to insert newlines.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Use gnome-terminal
2. Start codex
3. Type "Hello". Press ALT+ENTER. Note no newline inserted any more

What is the expected behavior?

A newline should be inserted as before

I am also experiencing this issue after updating Codex CLI.

Environment:

Codex CLI version: 0.128.0
OS: Ubuntu 24.04
Terminal: GNOME Terminal

Issue:
After updating Codex via npm -g install, multiline input stopped working.
Alt+Enter no longer inserts a newline.

Steps to reproduce:

Open terminal
Run codex
Type any text
Press Alt+Enter

Actual result:
No newline is inserted. The input is either ignored or behaves like a normal Enter.

Expected result:
Alt+Enter should insert a newline without submitting the prompt.

Additional notes:
This worked correctly before updating. The issue occurs in the native terminal, not just in IDE environments.
