What version of the Codex App are you using?
26.506.31004
What platform is your computer?
macOS 15.7.5
What issue are you seeing?
The Codex desktop app new chat screen has a rendering/layout bug in the composer/input area.
The composer appears to have an oversized blurred/background layer underneath it. This layer leaks below and to the right of the rounded input container, creating visible dark rectangular artifacts. On the new chat screen, this leaked blur layer appears to cover or obscure the starter/helpful content that should appear underneath the composer, making that start content inaccessible.
Observed behavior:
- New chat screen shows a large dark blurred rectangle under the input composer.
- The blurred/background layer is not clipped to the visible rounded composer shape.
- Starter/helpful content underneath the composer appears covered or inaccessible.
- When the composer contains an attached screenshot and longer text, the same issue appears as hard-edged artifacts on the right and bottom edges of the composer.
- Restarting the app, updating the app, and rebooting the Mac did not fix it.
- Resetting zoom and resizing the window did not fix it.
Expected behavior:
The composer background/blur/shadow should be clipped to the visible rounded input container, and any starter content below the composer should remain visible and clickable.
Additional context
This appears to be a UI layering/clipping/compositing issue around the new chat composer, likely involving the backdrop blur, shadow, or background wrapper.
