Thanks. I tried validating this locally, and I don’t think this is just a missing local-environment/project setup issue.

The existing folders are visible in the Codex sidebar, e.g. Databricks shows as a project, but the sidebar says “No chats.” The underlying history is still present:

• The session JSONL files exist under ~/.codex/sessions.
• The thread rows exist in ~/.codex/state_5.sqlite.
• For Databricks specifically, the real user thread exists:
  thread id: 019e282e-3535-7fe0-8fa9-cd50d886c5a9
  cwd: C:\Users\sean.mccrary\Databricks
  title: “Can you download the git folder structure from https://github.com/databricks/app-templates...”
• A direct app-server thread/list call with cwd = C:\Users\sean.mccrary\Databricks returns that thread correctly.

The issue appears to be in the desktop sidebar/project grouping behavior. It seems to build project chat groups only from the first page of recent loaded conversations, rather than querying each saved project folder by cwd. So projects whose chats exist but fall outside that loaded recent window show as “No chats.”

Adding/selecting existing folders may restore project/environment configuration, but it does not explain why a saved project whose thread exists and is returned by exact cwd lookup still shows no chats.

Can you confirm whether the sidebar is expected to query project folders directly, or whether this is a regression in the project grouping/recent-thread pagination logic?
