What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Version 26.623.81905 • Released 1 lip 2026
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Windows 10 Home 22H2 19045.7417
What issue are you seeing?
After subscribing to ChatGPT Plus, I noticed what appears to be an issue with the weekly usage limit reset date.
When I first purchased the subscription (about four days ago), I clearly saw that my weekly usage limit would reset on July 3. Since I rely on ChatGPT for ongoing work, I planned my usage around that date and started using my weekly quota accordingly.
Today, when I checked my remaining quota (around 5% left), I noticed that the weekly reset date had unexpectedly changed to July 7.
There was no notification or explanation that the reset date had changed, so this came as a complete surprise.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: no-active-thread-019f1d37-8d4e-7f22-a829-bad87442d512
What is the expected behavior?
The weekly reset date should remain consistent once it has been shown to the user, or, if it needs to change for some reason, the UI should clearly explain why.
Actual behavior
The weekly usage reset date changed from July 3 to July 7 after I had already planned my usage based on the originally displayed date.
As a result, instead of waiting only a couple more days, I now have to wait almost an additional week before my quota resets.
Steps to reproduce
Unfortunately, I don't know the exact trigger.
What happened was:
Subscribe to ChatGPT Plus.
Check the Usage page and note the weekly reset date (in my case it showed July 3).
Use ChatGPT normally over the next few days.
Return to the Usage page later.
Observed result: the weekly reset date had changed to July 7 without any explanation.
Additional information
This issue is particularly frustrating because I planned my work around the reset date that was originally displayed.
I have several projects that depend on ChatGPT, and I'll be leaving for work on July 12, so I carefully calculated my usage expecting the quota to reset on July 3.
Instead, I discovered the change only after my weekly quota had already dropped to around 5%, leaving me with almost no capacity and several additional days to wait.
I'm not sure whether this is a UI bug or a backend issue with the usage tracking, but the behavior is confusing and can significantly affect users who plan their work based on the displayed reset date.
I've attached screenshots showing the current usage page and the reset information.
