Summary

  • prevent the CLI realtime demo from interrupting itself by gatekeeping barge-in on microphone energy relative to playback echo. The realtime model speaks but never finishes its sentences at the moment with the script for me
  • smooth playback RMS tracking to inform the gate and reduce clipped assistant speech

Test plan

  • uv run python examples/realtime/cli/demo.py in main and on this branch (exercise conversation; ensure assistant completes utterances)
