illegal hardware instruction (Installation error)

I followed the install steps, but when I try to check my install with this following line, I get an "illegal hardware instruction" error.

python -m spinup.run ppo --hid "[32,32]" --env LunarLander-v2 --exp_name installtest --gamma 0.999

Hi, @mei-chen , I think you'll have to give some more information if you want somebody to help you here. For example, a description of your environment (OS, versions of libraries installed, etc.) and, most important, the full error you receive.

I also have received this error on an M1 Mac running MacOS Monterrey 12.6
Has anyone found a solution for this?

Which python version you are running?
Python should (or must) be an arm64-version.

Execute python in terminal/iterm:
python

import platform
platform.platform()
'macOS-13.3-arm64-arm-64bit'

Note: I've had the illegal instruction error with numpy-library. Turns out the python version runs through Rosetta2 and that was wrong.

My python version is: Python 3.6.12
On Apple M1 Max.
