Highlights

  • Keep commands and files in the intended repository. Retained Actions workspaces must prove their Git root and origin before reuse, closing cross-repository command execution and file transfer even with --no-sync --no-hydrate. Explicit cross-repository hydration keeps claim-bound consent. PR 2605, PR 2564. Thanks @vincentkoc.
  • Spend less time preparing brokered cloud leases. GCP skips unchanged firewall updates, shares OAuth tokens, and reuses exact firewall checks for five minutes; AWS skips redundant SSH ingress mutations and caches VPC discovery. Fresh Hetzner lease keys avoid full key inventories, and successful AWS Spot/Hetzner price quotes are cached for five minutes. PR 2610, PR 2614, PR 2609, PR 2611.
  • Get clear failures without losing cleanup or logs. Definite capacity rejections stop recovery and cancellation, ambiguous AWS allocations retain cleanup custody, completed runs keep logs after lost commit acknowledgements, and coordinator stop cleanup uses the lease's SSH identity. PR 2616, PR 2604, Issue 1561, PR 2617.
  • Start Parallels macOS guests more reliably. Apple silicon defaults to full clones unless a snapshot selects linked mode, and guest preparation waits for a working Tools execution session within the startup deadline. Linked-clone warnings and Local Network diagnostics explain common failure paths. PR 2606, PR 2615, Issue 2398, Issue 2612. Thanks @saariuslystoned.
  • See where lease creation time goes. Lease events and timing JSON now expose bounded coordinator admission and provider-preparation step durations, repeated calls, and failures without provider payloads. PR 2607.
  • Use compatible GCP boot disks and build the Node coordinator again. GCP chooses the boot disk type for each machine family and falls back on disk incompatibility; the Node image pins the updated AWS RDS CA bundle, including me-west-1 roots. PR 2608, PR 2618.

Upgrade notes

  • Parallels macOS guests on Apple silicon now default to full clones when no snapshot is selected. To keep linked cloning, use --parallels-clone-mode linked or parallels.cloneMode: linked; an existing snapshot name or ID also preserves the linked default. Full clones use the source VM's current state and require snapshot selectors to be cleared. PR 2606, PR 2615, Issue 2398, Issue 2612. Thanks @saariuslystoned.
  • The coordinator caches exact GCP managed-firewall verification for up to five minutes. External firewall drift can go unnoticed during that window; the next uncached create reconciles it. Policy changes, credential rotation, and relevant provider errors invalidate reuse. PR 2614.
  • Definite coordinator create failures with no possible provider resource return 422 provisioning_failed, including matching bound replays. Clients should treat that exact status/code as terminal; ambiguous allocation outcomes retain recovery and cleanup custody. PR 2608, PR 2616.

Added

  • Expose bounded coordinator admission and provider preparation step durations in lease creation events and timing JSON, including repeated-call and failure counts without provider payloads. PR 2607.

Changed

  • Reuse exact coordinator GCP firewall verifications for five minutes with policy/credential isolation and error invalidation, and separate Compute request timings from token acquisition. PR 2614.
  • Avoid full Hetzner SSH-key inventory reads for fresh lease keys and cache successful coordinator AWS Spot/Hetzner price estimates for five minutes without blocking admission on quote failures. PR 2611.
  • Skip redundant brokered AWS SSH ingress mutations and cache account/region-scoped VPC discovery while preserving fresh policy checks and legacy world-rule cleanup. PR 2609.
  • Skip unchanged brokered GCP firewall updates and reuse coordinator OAuth tokens until their existing refresh margin, preserving drift reconciliation and credential isolation. PR 2610.

Fixes

  • Verify retained Actions workspace identity before run, sync, cache warm, or editor handoff; preserve custom paths and explicit cross-repository hydration with claim-bound consent. PR 2605, PR 2564. Thanks @vincentkoc.
  • Prepare the lease's SSH key and authoritative host-key pin before best-effort coordinator stop cleanup, so the Actions hydration stop marker and egress client cleanup no longer fail host verification; preparation failures warn without blocking provider release. PR 2617.
  • Preserve definite provider rejection diagnostics on coordinator create replays and stop client recovery without cancellation; ambiguous public AWS allocations retain cleanup custody and cannot fall back to another candidate or region. PR 2616.
  • Preserve run-history logs after an ambiguous terminal commit, confirming the exact stored finish before acknowledging recovery and retaining evidence when rereads fail. PR 2604, Issue 1561.
  • Select GCP boot disks by machine family, using Hyperdisk Balanced for Hyperdisk-only families and pd-balanced elsewhere; fall back on disk/machine incompatibilities and reject image-strategy checkpoints of Hyperdisk leases with guidance to use disk snapshots. PR 2608.
  • Return 422 provisioning_failed with attempt diagnostics when a coordinator create definitively failed with no possible provider resource, instead of an HTTP 500 that clients replayed as uncertain. PR 2608.
  • Pin the current AWS RDS global CA bundle in the Node coordinator image, including the me-west-1 root CAs, fixing image builds broken by the stale checksum. PR 2618.
  • Bound Parallels guest-exec readiness and macOS preparation retries, preserve linked clones for unset mode with snapshot selectors, and diagnose macOS host network access. Clarify the existing retention contract: --keep-on-failure starts after acquisition; generated-ID acquisition failures roll back, while fixed IDs retain their replay/cleanup contract. PR 2615, Issue 2612. Thanks @saariuslystoned.
  • Default Parallels macOS guests on Apple silicon to full clones without snapshot selectors, warn before linked macOS clones about observed IP/Tools failures, and clarify snapshot-clearing guidance while retaining linked defaults elsewhere. PR 2606, PR 2615, Issue 2398. Thanks @saariuslystoned.
  • Return precise diagnostics and native_unsupported JSON receipts when checkpoint capability resolution refuses capture, and reject invalid modes before lease resolution. PR 2613.
