- I am having trouble running the samples, what can I do to debug them?
- I receive a timeout, "
dxlclient.exceptions.WaitTimeoutException: Timeout waiting for response to message", when attempting to invoke an ePO command via DXL - I receive an error similar to the following, "
Error: unable to locate service for request (-2147483647)", when attempting to invoke an ePO command via DXL
Q: I am having trouble running the samples, what can I do to debug them?
A: The following steps are generally useful for debugging the samples:
Ensure the prerequisites for the ePO DXL client have been met.
Switch from
ERRORtoDEBUGlogging in the samples as shown below:# Configure local logger logging.getLogger().setLevel(logging.ERROR)Change to:
# Configure local logger logging.getLogger().setLevel(logging.DEBUG)
A: This typically occurs due to the Python client not having permission to send messages to the topic associated with the ePO server.
The following page provides information about authorizing clients to access the ePO DXL service:
https://opendxl.github.io/opendxl-epo-service-python/pydoc/authorization.html#client-authorization
A: There are a couple common reasons why this error occurs:
- The ePO DXL service is not running.
- The
uniqueIdspecified in the request (last portion of the request topic) does not match an ePO currently exposed to the DXL fabric.
