Support for signing STAC assets #2245

I am having difficulties accessing several STAC datasets through the GeoLibre web application, particularly datasets provided by the Microsoft Planetary Computer (MPC). The STAC catalog and item metadata appear to be discoverable, but many assets fail to load or return “failed to fetch” errors. I suspect this is because Planetary Computer asset URLs need to be signed with a temporary SAS token before they can be accessed. In Python, this would normally be handled using planetary_computer.sign() or a signing modifier in PySTAC Client. 
Does the GeoLibre web application currently support signing assets from STAC providers such as Microsoft Planetary Computer? If so, how should this be configured? Is there a way for a plugin to apply a signing function or call the MPC signing endpoint before loading an asset? On a side note, I think that for plugins like this (STAC Catalogs), a useful feature would be to filter datasets by category (for example LULC datasets, etc) |
