In addition to the previous release, Protest 5.0 introduces the following features:

  • Updated third-party dependencies to the latest versions.
  • Remove the Locate IP utility.
  • Updated the MAC address database; MAC-to-vendor mapping is now embedded directly in the executable.
  • Introduced a new Topology tool.
  • Added the ability to fetch network device interfaces via SNMP.
  • Interfaces on device-view now shows live info when available.
  • SNMP polling now presents data in a tree-view format.
  • Enhanced the SNMP profile dialog.
  • Added the ability to assign VLAN IDs to zones.
  • Lifeline now supports network devices via SNMP, including traffic and error monitoring.
  • More device types has been added.
  • Device windows now feature a colored emblem on the taskbar for better visual distinction.
  • Site check now allows selection of the HTTP version to verify.
  • Improve keyboard navigation in list windows.
  • Adjust Issues warning levels.
  • The Agent now can overwrite the default uVNC password.
  • Updated animations, UI elements and improved text readability.

Bug fixes:

  • Fix a bug that cause SNMPv3 walk-request to fail in certain edge cases.
  • Resolved visual glitches in the Issues tool and Password generator utility.
  • Fixed a bug with Telnet argument handling.
