OpenScholar is a full-featured open-source web site-creation package designed for the academic community.

Getting Started

• What happens when I install OpenScholar? When you install OpenScholar, you're installing a site creation platform. A single OpenScholar installation can host just one site, or multiple sites, each with user-selected appearance, features, settings and content.
• What exactly is an OS Site? The OS Site (vsite) content type uses organic groups, purl, spaces, context and more to optionally allow on-the-fly creation of new virtual sites on a single OpenScholar installation. Once you have created an OS Site, you'll see an intuitive interface that makes site creation and management a breeze.

Site Building

OpenScholar simplifies and enhances many common site features into a Control Panel (cp.module). The control panel provides four main sections:

Menus

Primary and secondary menus come out of the box, users can modify them and add their own.

An easy drag and drop interface with contexts under the hood greatly simplifies adding, enabling and placing widgets.
