Summary

  • Adds _brand.yml as the single source of truth for the openwashdata visual identity, consolidated from the website theme: the purple family (including a derived very light background tint), a high-contrast orange, the link blue, the highlight set, Atkinson Hyperlegible typography, semantic color mappings, and designated logo marks.
  • Adds the full logo library under logos/ (variants 01 to 41 in SVG and PNG, the large variant, the QR-code logos, and the source design file).
  • Adds example.qmd, a preview document that renders from the brand file alone; its palette chart reads the YAML live, so the preview cannot drift from the definition. The README documents per-consumer usage (Quarto, bslib/pkgdown, plain R) and the change-here-first update discipline.

Test plan

  • _brand.yml parses as valid YAML and all logo paths it references resolve
  • quarto render example.qmd completes without errors
  • (Visual) rendered preview shows Atkinson Hyperlegible, the palette swatches, tinted callouts, and the three logo marks (owner reviewed the rendered preview)

_brand.yml consolidates the openwashdata visual identity from the
website theme (style/theme.scss, styles.css): the purple family with a
derived very light background tint, a high-contrast orange, the link
blue, the highlight set, Atkinson Hyperlegible typography, semantic
color mappings, and the designated logo marks. logos/ carries the full
library including the QR-code logos and the source design file.
example.qmd renders a preview from the brand file alone; its palette
chart reads the YAML live so the preview cannot drift from the
definition. The README documents per-consumer usage (Quarto, bslib,
plain R) and the change-here-first update discipline. Rendered output
stays untracked.
