edaptor v1.6.1
1.6.1 - 2026-08-17
Changed
-
Error messages carry the LDAP result code, e.g.
Constraint violation (LDAP 19). It is the one searchable identifier for a failure, and it shows at a
glance when a bare code is genuinely all the server sent. -
The error dialog sizes itself to the message instead of a fixed 60×12 box,
so a message naming a DN and a reason is readable. Long values are wrapped, and
a DN with nowhere to wrap is broken rather than allowed to run past the frame. -
The test server provisions the
uniqueoverlay. Its rules are filtered
(ldap:///?gidNumber?sub?(objectClass=posixGroup)) so a user-private group may
share its account'sgidNumberwhile group gidNumbers stay unique — the
unfiltered form blocks every companion create.tests/live_unique_overlay.rs
pins both halves.
Fixed
- A failed write now says what went wrong. When a server rejects a
transactional create, it reports the result code at commit time with an empty
diagnostic message — schema errors are checked up front and explain themselves,
but overlay errors (unique, ppolicy, …) are deferred to the commit and their
reason is never sent. The dialog therefore readConstraint violationand
nothing else. eDAPtor now replays the rolled-back entries outside the
transaction to recover the server's real explanation, and shows it with the DN
of the entry that failed. The replay runs only after a rollback, stops at the
first failure, removes whatever it created, and names anything it could not
remove instead of leaving it behind silently.
