System Purifier v1.0.0

System Purifier is a desktop utility for auditing and managing Android system packages over ADB. It is built for users who require precise control over which components remain on a device, with safeguards that prevent irreversible damage to the operating system.

macOS, Windows, and Linux builds all ship with a bundled copy of Android platform-tools. No prior ADB installation is required.

Core Capabilities

Pre-Removal Backup
Every uninstall operation is preceded by an automated extraction of the target package, including split APK structures, to local storage. If the backup cannot be completed, the removal is not executed. This guarantees a recovery path for every action taken.

Risk-Aware Classification
System components are evaluated against an internal risk database and assigned a severity level. Packages classified as critical — those tied to core telephony, networking, or OS stability — require explicit typed confirmation before removal. Casual or accidental deletion of essential services is structurally prevented.

Package Restoration
Previously removed applications can be reinstalled directly from the local backup archive. The restoration engine handles both single-APK and split-APK packages via sequential ADB streaming.

Operation Journal
All actions performed during a session — backups, removals, and restorations — are recorded in a structured log. This provides a clear audit trail and allows users to review exactly what was modified on a device.

Platform Notes

macOS

  • Universal binary (Apple Silicon and Intel).
  • ADB is bundled within the application. On first launch, the binary is extracted to ~/Library/Application Support/SystemPurifier/ and made executable automatically.
  • No Homebrew, Xcode command-line tools, or manual PATH configuration is necessary.

Windows

  • 64-bit build targeting Windows 10 and later.
  • ADB and its required libraries are bundled alongside the application executable.
  • No Android SDK or separate platform-tools installation is necessary.

Linux

  • Packaged as a Flatpak, compatible with Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, and most other distros.
  • ADB is bundled internally.
  • Requirement: Your host system must have Android udev rules installed to grant the Flatpak permission to access USB devices.

Installation

macOS

  1. Download SystemPurifier-v1.0.0-macOS.zip from the assets below.
  2. Extract the archive and move System Purifier.app to /Applications.
  3. On first launch, macOS may require approval under System Settings > Privacy and Security.

Important Note for Linux USB Access:
You must install Android udev rules on your host machine so the app can see your connected phone:

  • Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt install android-sdk-platform-tools-common
  • Fedora: sudo dnf install android-tools
  • Arch: sudo pacman -S android-udev

Device Preparation

Enable USB Debugging on the target Android device before connecting it to the host machine. This setting is located under Developer Options in the device's system settings.

Requirements
