24.0.1 - Introducing ÖPNV to Fredy

Finding a flat is one thing. Getting out of it every morning is another.
Fredy now knows how well connected every listing is.

Public transport on the map

The map got a new layer, and it is on by default:

• Rail, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram and light rail, colour-coded by mode, on the standard and the satellite basemap.
• Hover a stop → live departures. Which lines call there, where they go, whenthe next one leaves, and how late it is. No click needed. (Not sure if this is a good one tho, time will tell ;) )
• Nearest stops per listing. The marker popup and the listing detail page now
  show the three closest stops with walking distance, each expandable into its
  own departure board.

Powered by OpenFreeMap tiles and the Transitous community timetable service. No API key, no account, nothing to configure. Your browser never talks to the timetable service directly, Fredy's backend proxies and caches every lookup, so coordinates only leave your server when you actually open a stop.

Not your thing? One switch in the map panel turns it off.

Map, generally less annoying

• Stacked listings are reachable again. Several flats at the same address used
  to be one pin with exactly one of them visible. The pin now carries a counter
  badge and the popup pages through all of them with ‹ › arrows.
• Popups fit on screen. They pan themselves into view instead of hanging off
  the bottom edge, and they got wider on desktop so the address stops wrapping
  three times.
• Markers look clickable. Because they are.
