Release list
OrangeDeck 0.2.15
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release removes the watch-only wallet.
What's new since 0.2.14
- The watch-only wallet is gone, on every platform. Since 15 September it had only existed on Linux with the OrangeDeck service, and it was the one part of OrangeDeck that asked for anything about you: the mempool instance saw which addresses were queried. Now every platform shows the same five views: feed, clock, mining, explorer and market.
- The service no longer derives addresses from an xpub. A watch list left in
~/.config/orangedeck/sources.jsonis ignored and can be deleted;--watch-add,--watch-listand--watch-removesay that the wallet no longer exists. - If the wallet was your start view, the last view or part of your tab order, OrangeDeck opens the first view of your order instead.
--view 4does the same. - The service writes
sources.jsonwith permissions 600 on every path, including the Mempool instance field from 0.2.14.
Windows: orangedeck-0.2.15-windows-x86_64.zip
Unzip anywhere and run orangedeck-app.exe. Requires Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Tested on
- Samsung Galaxy A55 with Android 16 in German, this signed APK installed over 0.2.14 with its settings kept: it opens with the five tabs Feed, Clock, Mining, Explorer and Market, and the miner view shows the Bitaxe as before.
- Windows 11 in a VM with a German system, this ZIP: started with
--view 4, it opens the feed with the five tabs Feed, Clock, Mining, Explorer and Market. - This Flatpak bundle on a Linux desktop, in English, with old settings that had the wallet as start view, last view and in the tab order: it opens the feed, and the tab bar ends with Market.
- The service on Linux with a
sources.jsonthat still contains a watch list: it starts,/walletsanswers 404, and the state carries no wallet fields. - Not tested in this release: the live sessions of Ubuntu and Fedora, macOS, real tablets, and display scaling above 100% on Windows. If something looks wrong, please open an issue.

OrangeDeck 0.2.14
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release lets you choose where the data comes from.
What's new since 0.2.13
- A new field in the settings, Mempool instance, under General. Leave it empty for mempool.space, or enter another public instance such as mempool.emzy.de or mempool.ninja, or your own node, for example http://umbrel.local:3006. Without a scheme the address is taken as https, and an /api at the end does not matter.
- The instance applies everywhere: the live feed and every view in direct mode, the details of a mempool tile, the explorer, the Android widgets, and the OrangeDeck service on Linux. When the field changes, the service on the same computer switches over, saves the address in sources.json and reconnects.
- The service accepts that change only from the same computer, only as JSON and never with an Origin header. No other device on the network and no website in a browser can point it somewhere else. This matters because the service also asks the instance about the addresses you watch.
- The data source choice now reads "Directly to the mempool instance" instead of naming mempool.space.

- This Flatpak bundle on a Linux desktop, in English: the same three cases with the same results, and the field under General.
- The service on Linux: switched to mempool.ninja and back through the field's request, with the address saved and the connection renewed; requests from the network, with an Origin header or not as JSON were refused.
- Not tested in this release: the live sessions of Ubuntu and Fedora, macOS, real tablets, and display scaling above 100% on Windows. If something looks wrong, please open an issue.

OrangeDeck 0.2.13
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release fixes four things that looked wrong outside of the German interface or outside of the system it was built on.
What's new since 0.2.12
- Numbers and dates follow the language of the interface. The English interface showed German forms next to English text, such as "0,01" in the legend, "78.324 transactions" and "19.09.2026". Now it writes 0.01 and 78,324, and dates in English are written as 2026-09-25, so day and month cannot be mixed up.
- The fee rate in the details of a mempool tile matches the size and fee shown above it. It came from mempool.space, which includes parent transactions and sigops, so it could differ from fee divided by size in the same box. The tooltip now shows its own calculation. If the effective rate differs, it has a line of its own, and the tile keeps its color by the effective rate, because that is the one miners choose by.
- The price axis in the market view is no longer cut off at the right edge. On Ubuntu and Fedora the last digit was missing, because the labels were measured in a different font than the one they were drawn in.
- On Linux the window shows its icon in the title bar and the taskbar. It had none on Fedora with KDE. The window now carries the icon itself, and the desktop file names the window class for X11.

- Samsung Galaxy A55 with Android 16 in German, this signed APK installed over 0.2.12 with its settings kept: the tabs with live data, German numbers and dates, and the full price axis in the market view.
- Windows 11 in a VM with a German system, this ZIP: feed and market with live data, the fee rate in the details of a tile matches fee divided by size, and the price axis shows every digit.
- This Flatpak bundle, freshly installed in live sessions of Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Fedora 44 with KDE, both in English: feed and market with live data, English numbers and dates, the fee rate in the tile details matches its own numbers, and the price axis shows every digit. On Fedora the icon shows in the title bar and the taskbar. On Ubuntu the dock showed a generic icon, because flatpak was installed into the running live session and the session did not know its path yet; on an installed system that is set at login.
- Not tested yet: macOS, real tablets, and display scaling above 100% on Windows. If something looks wrong, please open an issue.

Deutsch
OrangeDeck 0.2.12
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release keeps the Android widgets useful when the network is gone and makes the Android package much smaller.
What's new since 0.2.11
- Android widgets keep their numbers when a fetch fails. Until now they showed "not reachable right now" and nothing else, even when the price from a minute ago was known. Now they show the last values they had, and the title turns into the time those values were fetched, for example "as of 08:16". When the network is back they update and show their name again. This starts after a widget's first successful fetch with this version, because the values stored by 0.2.11 carry no time.
- On Android, a tap on a tile in the mempool mosaic shows its details and leaves them on screen. In 0.2.11 they disappeared as soon as the finger left the tile, and the tap itself did nothing. A tap on empty space hides them, and a second tap on the same tile opens the transaction in the explorer. Double tap resets the zoom, which had not worked on phones either.
- On the desktop, clicking a tile in the mempool mosaic opens the transaction in the explorer. The details showed on hover, but the click did nothing. A double click resets the zoom, so a single click waits a moment before it opens the explorer.
- The Android package is 24 MB instead of 57 MB. The native libraries are now compressed inside the APK. Android unpacks them during installation, so the app takes a little more space on the phone afterwards.
- Error messages on screen are short reasons in every language, such as "not found" or "too many requests", instead of technical text from the network library. The technical version goes to the log.
- On Linux, the service notices when the live feed from mempool.space goes silent without closing the connection. It reconnects after a minute and fills the gap from the regular interface in the meantime. Before, the desktop widgets could stand still while everything looked connected.
- The settings of the Dank Material Shell plugin speak the same thirteen languages as the app.
- The project moved to github.com/orangedeck-dev/orangedeck. Old links redirect.

Tested on
- Samsung Galaxy A55 with Android 16, this signed APK installed over earlier builds of 0.2.12, the first of which went over 0.2.11: all tabs with live data, and in the feed a tap shows the details of a tile and keeps them, a tap on empty space hides them, a second tap opens the explorer and a double tap resets the zoom. Widgets keeping their numbers without network, with "Stand 08:16" in the title and back to normal once the network returned, were seen on a test build from the same day with the same widget code, not on this file.
- Windows 11 25H2 in a VM, this ZIP: feed, clock, mining, explorer and market (heatmap) with data, hovering a tile shows its details and a click opens that transaction in the explorer, the digits switch tabs, the comma key opens the settings. A widget stays on the desktop with Win+D and shows data, Q closes widget and window. No new detection from Defender.
- This Flatpak bundle, freshly installed in live sessions of Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Fedora 44 with KDE: feed, clock and market with live data, hovering a tile shows its details, a click opens that transaction in the explorer, and a double click after zooming in resets the view without opening it. The settings open with the comma key. Mining, liquidations and the heatmap were seen on an earlier build of this release the same day.
- Not tested yet: macOS, real tablets, and display scaling above 100% on Windows. If something looks wrong, please open an issue.

OrangeDeck 0.2.11
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release fixes what the last one left behind. Widgets that came back empty after a night in standby, a liquidation view that stayed blank, and tables you could not scroll with the keyboard.
What's new since 0.2.10
- Android widgets fetch what they missed as soon as the network is back. While a phone is dozing it has no connection, so the update failed and the widget waited for the next hour. Now the attempt is repeated the moment there is a network again, and the reason for a failure is written to the log.
- The liquidation view no longer stays blank. Over a long range it now includes the running week, and when the last hours are empty it says so instead of showing nothing. The service fills the view from the last 24 hours that OKX still serves, which is as far back as that exchange goes.
- The time in "listening since" now moves along when older entries drop out of the stored window, instead of claiming a longer history than the numbers cover.
- In the explorer, the two columns of a replaced transaction are translated in every language. They read "old" and "new" in English and the same in the other twelve.
- Tables can be read with the keyboard: page up and down, home and end. The key help says how to leave the search with Esc.
- The tooltip over the mempool mosaic sits on the same dark, blurred backing as the other readings, so it stays legible above bright tiles.
- Without a service, the mempool tile no longer heads an empty area. The curve of incoming transactions is written by the service. On Android, and on Windows and Linux unless a service runs, that reading does not exist, so the tile shows its three numbers alone.

Tested on
- Samsung Galaxy A55 with Android 16, this signed APK installed over the build before it: feed, clock, mining, explorer and market with live data, the miner reached directly, and liquidations over the last hour with long/short from all three exchanges. The list of recently seen transactions held twelve different entries right after the start and twelve different ones again a minute later, and the mempool tile said why it has no curve. The widgets after a night in standby were seen on an earlier build of this release, not on this file.
- Windows 11 25H2 in a VM, this ZIP, with the settings left over from 0.2.10 (direct data source, wallet switched off): feed, clock, mining, explorer and market with data, no wallet tab and no service settings, the comma key, the digits switch tabs, End jumps to the end of a page, twelve different entries in the list of recently seen transactions, and the mempool tile saying why it has no curve. A widget stays on the desktop with Win+D and shows data, Q closes window and widget. No new detection from Defender.
- This Flatpak bundle, freshly installed in live sessions of Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Fedora 44 with KDE: all five views with live data, liquidations with long/short from all three exchanges, the settings with the comma key, End moved the explorer to the end of the page in both, and the mempool tile drew its curve, because the bundle brings the service along.
- Not tested yet: macOS, real tablets, and display scaling above 100% on Windows. If something looks wrong, please open an issue.

OrangeDeck 0.2.10
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release removes the wallet from phones, tablets and Windows and fixes Android widgets that stayed empty.
Removed since 0.2.9
- The watch-only wallet and the setting Data source > Service on another device are gone on phones, tablets and Windows. 0.2.9 announced both as new, but they never worked there: the app discarded the address you entered and kept asking itself. The wallet addresses would also have crossed your network unencrypted. On Linux both remain, and the address you enter is now actually used.
- A service address saved with 0.2.9 is ignored on these systems. There is nothing to clean up.
What's new since 0.2.9
- Android widgets draw their last known values immediately and share one time budget for all requests. Several widgets updating at once no longer stay empty, and a request that gets no answer shows "offline" instead of "...".
- The market without a service shows long/short as soon as the first exchange answers instead of waiting for the slowest one. Bybit gets its own "listening since" time when it joined later, the heatmap keeps its last picture when Binance does not answer, and two-finger zoom centers on the point between your fingers.
- The comma key opens the settings. Pressing it again or Esc goes back.
- On Linux, the service fetches missed OKX liquidations when it reconnects, up to 3,000 entries back. On a quiet night that covers the hours nobody had the market open.
Windows: orangedeck-0.2.10-windows-x86_64.zip
Unzip anywhere and run orangedeck-app.exe. Requires Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
The build is not signed. A certificate costs money every year, and this project is meant to cost nothing. SmartScreen will warn you on the first start (More info > Run anyway). Please compare the checksum below before you do.
To start a widget, for example the block clock in the top right corner:
orangedeck-app.exe --layer bottom --anchor top, right --width 300 --height 220 --margin 24 --view 1 --bare --id clock
Click a widget and press Q to close it. Details are in packaging/widgets/README.md.

Tested on
- Windows 11 25H2 in a VM, with settings left over from 0.2.9 (a service address and the wallet switched on): no wallet tab and no service settings, the market loads directly from the exchanges, the comma key and Esc, a widget that stays on the desktop with Win+D, closing window and widget with Q. mempool.space did not answer this test network over IPv4 that day, so feed, clock and mining were not seen with data.
- Samsung Galaxy A55 with Android 16, this signed APK installed over 0.2.9: no wallet tab and no service settings, the back button closes the settings, feed and market with live data, long/short from all three exchanges, and the widgets refreshed with data after the update. Two-finger zoom was not checked with this build.
- This Flatpak bundle, freshly installed in live sessions of Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Fedora 44 with KDE: all tabs, the settings with the comma key, and the market with live data through the service. Feed, clock, mining and explorer stayed empty there for the same reason.

OrangeDeck 0.2.9
A Bitcoin dashboard with the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, a block explorer and the BTC market. MIT licensed, no account needed.
This release brings a first Windows build and the market on every device.
What's new since 0.2.8
- A first Windows build, as a ZIP that runs without installation. Feed, clock, mining, explorer, market and settings work on their own. The wallet comes from an OrangeDeck service on another computer (see below).
- Desktop widgets on Windows. The same command line as on Linux turns any view into a frameless widget without a taskbar entry, above or below all other windows. Widgets stay on the desktop when you press Win+D.
- The market no longer needs a service. Phones, tablets and Windows fetch candles, the trade tape, long/short account ratios and the liquidation heatmap directly from the public APIs of Binance, Bybit and OKX. Liquidations arrive live while the view is open, and the last day is loaded from OKX. On Linux the service keeps listening around the clock and holds two days.
- Watch-only wallet on phones, tablets and Windows. Under Data source > Service on another device, enter the address of the Linux computer running the OrangeDeck service, and the wallet appears. The service then answers anyone on your network, including requests for the wallet addresses. The settings page points this out, and the service stays local until you open it yourself.
- On narrow screens, the market header and the legends of liquidations and heatmap wrap instead of being cut off. Candles/line and volume/CVD have compact buttons, and the chart zooms with two fingers.
- Settings open from a gear button next to the fullscreen button instead of a tab. On a phone, the last tab used to sit under that button. The Android back gesture closes the settings.
- Widgets started with
--barenow hide the header and footer, as documented.

OrangeDeck 0.2.8
First release. · Erste Auslieferung.
A Bitcoin dashboard: the mempool as a live tile mosaic, a block height clock, mining figures for the whole network and your own Bitaxe, and a block explorer. MIT, no account.
Android — orangedeck-0.2.8-arm64-v8a.apk
For phones and tablets with a 64-bit ARM processor (arm64-v8a), Android 9 or newer.
- Feed, clock, mining and explorer; home screen shortcuts for feed, clock and explorer
- The mining network: hashrate and difficulty on one chart from 30 days back to 2009, the next adjustment, average block time and the pools of the last week — no miner needed
- Full-screen block clock: one tap hides the system bars and tabs, and the screen stays on — an old phone or tablet becomes a block clock on the wall. Tabs can switch on their own every 30 s to 10 min, and the clock can rotate the value it shows large
- Your own Bitaxe, directly: enter its address and the mining tab reads it over your Wi-Fi, with its chance of finding a block. If statistics are enabled in AxeOS, the chart shows up to twelve hours of history right away
- Ten home screen widgets: block height, mempool, price, miner and mining network, each as a compact tile and as a larger one with a chart or the explorer's block cards
- Follows your system language (13 languages) until you pick one; the widgets follow along
- Not in the Android package: the market tab and the watch-only wallet. Both need the OrangeDeck service that runs on Linux.
Widgets refresh every 30 minutes at most — Android does not allow a shorter interval.
Check the signature before installing. The APK is not from an app store, so this is the only way to confirm it comes from us:
apksigner verify --print-certs orangedeck-0.2.8-arm64-v8a.apk
The SHA-256 fingerprint of the signing certificate must be:
B3:CC:83:79:CE:27:93:4D:30:B5:48:B3:F5:A1:D5:51:6E:E1:11:14:FF:D5:4E:F1:7E:57:D2:38:12:02:92:E0
Linux — orangedeck-0.2.8.flatpak
Until the Flathub listing is through, as a bundle:
flatpak install --user orangedeck-0.2.8.flatpak
It pulls the KDE runtime 6.9 from Flathub. On Linux all six views are included, market and wallet too.
Tested on
- Android: Samsung Galaxy A55 (Android 16). In the emulator Android 9, 11 and 14, phone and tablet size — there with an x86_64 build of the same source, the arm64 package itself only on the Galaxy.
- Linux (Flatpak): Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Fedora 44 with KDE Plasma, both fresh systems in a VM. CachyOS with niri, built from source.
- Not yet: real tablets, other manufacturers' home screens, Windows and macOS. If something looks wrong on your device, please open an issue.
