Copying an installation between Linux and Windows #880

I need to copy a FreeShow installation between Windows and Linux. In Linux it is easy for me to use CLI tools to script the editing of config files. Can you give me a list of the following?:

Standard paths where things are stored on Windows (if not %UserProfile%\Documents\FreeShow and %AppData\Roaming\freeshow\ and on Linux (if not ~/Documents/FreeShow/ and ~/.config/freeshow/).
File names containing data which needs to be edited.
Which data needs to be edited. For example, I see that ~/.config/freeshow/settings.json contains what seems to be a representation of screen EDIDs. In some cases I need to transfer between different machines (such as when I'm working at home) and in others I am transferring data between a Windows and a Linux installation on the same machine (multi-boot). In the first case my script would need to replace the EDID information, while in the second (maybe) not. Are there any other fields I would need to edit?
Is there an easier way to copy an installation? I expect it would be best not to copy media and audio, but to know how add such items manually when copying.
