Description of issue

I tapped my fork for developing casks, but I forgot to untap it.

So when I want to untap my fork, it is suprising that most casks are installed from my fork (which is usually stale) and I need to uninstall the installed casks / app before I can untap my fork:

I don't really want to risk uninstalling installed casks even if the application data is preserved.

That output may be misleading: untap checks whether a cask with the same name is installed without verifying which tap it came from. Could you check the installation receipt’s source.tap value for one of those casks? If it says homebrew/cask, this is an untap bug, and adoption isn’t needed. I’ve prepared and tested a fix.
