WhatsApp Campaign option missing in self-hosted Chatwoot v4.18.0 despite WhatsApp Cloud API inboxes #16273
|
Hi Chatwoot team, I'm running a self-hosted Chatwoot instance and need help understanding why the WhatsApp Campaign option is missing from the Campaigns section. Environment Chatwoot version: 4.18.0 Deployment: Self-hosted on AWS EC2 using Docker Compose Reverse proxy: Nginx with HTTPS WhatsApp integration: WhatsApp Cloud API Chatwoot edition shown in Instance Status: Enterprise Issue Under Campaigns in the Chatwoot sidebar, I can see: Live Chat SMS However, there is no WhatsApp option. I want to use Chatwoot's native WhatsApp Campaign feature to send WhatsApp template messages to customers. Checks performed Confirmed the running Rails container uses chatwoot/chatwoot:v4.18.0. Confirmed the Super Admin → Instance Status page reports Chatwoot version 4.18.0. Confirmed both the local application (http://127.0.0.1:3000/) and public domain return HTTP 200. Confirmed Nginx proxies chatwoot.nivara.diamonds to http://127.0.0.1:3000. Confirmed both WhatsApp inboxes use the whatsapp_cloud provider. Instance Status reports Postgres and Redis as alive and database migrations as completed. Searched the application directories for whatsapp_campaigns, but that exact string returned no matches. Questions Is WhatsApp Campaign functionality available in self-hosted Chatwoot v4.18.0, or does it require a later release, specific edition, or feature flag? Is there any account-level configuration or permission that controls the visibility of the WhatsApp Campaign option? Are there any additional requirements beyond having a WhatsApp Cloud API inbox and approved WhatsApp message templates? If the feature should be available in v4.18.0, what logs, configuration, or code paths should I inspect to determine why the option is missing? I would appreciate guidance on the expected behaviour and the recommended troubleshooting steps. Thank you! |

WhatsApp campaigns sit behind the |
WhatsApp campaigns sit behind the
whatsapp_campaignaccount feature flag, which is off by default inconfig/features.yml, so the sidebar hides the entry until you turn it on (your search missed it because the name is singular). Log in as super admin, open/super_admin/accounts, edit your account, tick "WhatsApp Campaign" in the features list, save and reload the dashboard. In a Rails console the same thing isAccount.find(<account_id>).enable_features!(:whatsapp_campaign). Campaigns then shows a WhatsApp entry where you pick one of your WhatsApp inboxes and an approved template.
