Hello GitHub Community,
I'm reaching out for help and advice regarding my GitHub account restriction. My work has been completely halted for over two weeks now, and I'm hoping the community might be able to offer assistance or escalation paths.

What Happened
My GitHub account was suddenly restricted due to compliance with U.S. sanctions. As a developer who relies on GitHub for my daily work and open source contributions, this has become a serious professional issue for me.

The Context
I'm a developer based in Germany, but I was on a short visit to see my family in Syria. Despite using Starlink with a European IP address, GitHub's systems (understandably) detected my actual physical location and restricted my account according to their compliance obligations.
My Attempts at Resolution
Immediately after discovering the restriction:

• Submitted a formal appeal through GitHub's official channels
• Provided my German ID documentation and verification photos
• Explained that I'm only temporarily visiting family in Syria and will be returning to my permanent residence in Germany very soon

Despite these efforts, it has now been over two weeks since I opened my support ticket, and I've received no updates or resolution. My support ticket seems to be stuck in limbo.

Why I'm Desperately Seeking Help
This situation has become critical for several reasons:

• I am unable to access my repositories or contribute to projects
• My professional work has been severely impacted as I rely on GitHub daily
• I have active project deadlines that I cannot meet while locked out of my account
• Despite following all proper channels, I seem to be stuck in an administrative black hole

Request for Assistance
I'm reaching out to the GitHub community in hopes that:

• Someone from GitHub Support might see this and help expedite my case
• Community members with similar experiences might share successful resolution strategies
• Anyone with contacts or knowledge of escalation paths at GitHub might offer guidance

I completely understand GitHub's need to comply with sanctions, but as a German resident who was only temporarily visiting family, I believe my case warrants review. All my documentation has been submitted, and I only need someone to actually process my appeal.
Has anyone else experienced such a prolonged wait time with account restrictions? Does anyone have advice on how to get my ticket prioritized? Any help or guidance would be deeply appreciated as this is affecting my livelihood.
