How can I turn off link previews for GitHub links in Slack?

At some point the GitHub Slack bot asked me if I'd like for any GitHub links to have previews added to Slack messages, and I said yes. I now regret that choice - the previews are often too long/noisy.

How do I turn the previews off for GitHub? I've made a change in my general Slack settings to not show text previews of linked websites, but this doesn't seem to apply to GitHub links, hence I suspect it's the GitHub integration rather than Slack itself.

GitHub’s Slack app generates its own previews when you paste a link.

Same here, I can access authorization list but there's no setting to disable unfurling.

Slack app isn't connected in the first place, got to be another way.

When you hover over the Github post, there is an X. Selecting the X will then prompt to hide the Github post along with future posts from the app.

FINALLY! To turn off Github previews in a specific channel,

1. Navigate to the Slack channel to edit
2. Type /github settings
3. Hit that Mute button

Also just to note that if you click the X preview and decide you want to bring it back, you can do it by /github signout and /github signin to reconnect GitHub to Slack.
