We recently set a budget amount for GitHub Actions in our Billing & Licensing settings, but we’re still encountering failures when running workflows. The error message states:

“The job was not started because recent account payments have failed or your spending limit needs to be increased.”

Our account shows the new budget is in place (and greater than $0).
We confirmed there are no failed payments or outstanding invoices

re-triggered workflows, but the issue persists

Help us re-enable GitHub Actions for our account.

Even with a budget set, GitHub Actions can remain disabled if
->There was any prior payment failure, even if now resolved.
->The budget limit hasn’t fully refreshed across systems.
->Your billing cycle or spending cap enforcement hasn't yet synced.
Here’s what you can try

1. Double-check Billing > Invoices for any pending issues.
2. Go to Settings > Billing > Actions and temporarily increase the spending limit again.
3. If workflows still fail after retrying, contact [GitHub Support](https://support.github.com/contact) — they can manually re-enable Actions on your account if the system hasn’t picked up the changes yet.

Even though you've set a budget and confirmed no failed payments, this error can still occur due to:

Spending Limit Not Increased (Only Budget Set):
GitHub distinguishes between a spending limit and a budget.

The budget is a soft cap (for visibility or alerts).
The spending limit is a hard cap—if set to $0, workflows will not run.
