How can I display private contributions on my GitHub profile without exposing the repository? #188892
Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyHi everyone, I recently noticed that some of my commits in private repositories are not showing up on my GitHub contribution graph. I would like my activity to appear on the profile graph, but I do not want the private repository details to be visible publicly. Is there a way to include private contributions in the contribution graph while keeping the repository information private? I checked the profile settings but I am not completely sure how the feature works. Does enabling "Include private contributions on my profile" reveal any repository information publicly, or does it only show contribution counts? |

Yes, GitHub allows you to show your private contributions on your profile without revealing any details about the private repositories. To enable this feature:
After enabling this option, your contribution graph will count activity from private repositories. However, GitHub will not display the repository name, commit messages, or any private code. It will only show that a contribution was made on that day. This means your overall activity will appear on the contribution graph while still keeping the private repository information secure. So enabling this setting is safe if you want to show your development activity publicly without exposing private project details. |
