Hi everyone,

Hello!
So my application got rejected for:

• Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your last name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. If you have only a single legal name, enter it in both the first and last name fields of your GitHub billing information.

-The image you selected does not appear to contain your school name. Your complete school name must appear in your document, not only the school logo. You may include multiple documents together. If your official document is not in English then you may photograph the original next to an English translation.

-Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your first name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. Variations of your name and nicknames are unacceptable.

-You are unlikely to be verified until you have completed your GitHub user profile with your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document. Please do not use a variation of your name or a nickname. Once you have updated your profile information log out and log back into GitHub before re-applying.

But the image i sent contained a swedish and english version of a offical school document where my full name and the school name was present in both the swedish and english version. And i have tripled checked that i have not entered any part of my name wrong in neither the billing information or in my profile. It is exactly identically to my name in the image i sent.

Can someone please help me?

Since your name, school name, and translation are all confirmed present, this is likely an OCR/legibility issue rather than a genuine mismatch. A few things to check:

1. Full name string match, not just visual match — GitHub's check may be literal-string based. Check for subtle differences: extra spaces, hyphens vs. no hyphen, diacritics (å, ä, ö) rendering differently between your profile/billing and the document, or a middle name present in one but not the other.
2. Document layout confusing the OCR — having two languages in one image can cause automated text recognition to grab the wrong name/school string, especially if they're close together or overlapping. Try submitting the Swedish original and English translation as clearly separated photos (or one above the other with a visible gap), rather than side-by-side or overlapping.
3. Image quality/compression — the capture form is known to compress images significantly. Make sure the text is large, sharp, and in focus in-frame, not just legible in a wide shot of the full page.
4. Log out/log in after any profile change — if you've made any adjustment recently, make sure you fully logged out and back in before your last attempt, as the doc instructs.

If everything genuinely matches and none of the above helps, this needs manual review — open a ticket at support.github.com under "GitHub Education," explain the document contains both Swedish and English versions with matching name/school, and ask for human review since automated OCR seems to be misreading it.
