🏷️ Discussion TypeQuestion 💬 Feature/Topic AreaRe-verification/Repeat Application Hi everyone,I created a new personal account and I want it to have the Student Pack. I don't want to merge from my current one. Is there anyway to get a removal from it? |

This comes up pretty often, and the short answer is there's no self-service toggle in account settings to "remove" the Student Pack from one account and move it to another without merging them GitHub Education verifies you as a person, not the account itself, so as long as the verification is still active on the old account, the system will usually block the new one for detecting an active pack tied to the same identity (name, document, institutional email, etc.). What actually works is emailing education@github.com directly, explaining that you want the benefit moved to the new account and the old one cleared of the Student Pack (without needing to merge the two accounts) they can manually deactivate the verification on the old account so you can apply cleanly on the new one. Have both usernames ready, plus the same document you originally used to verify, since they'll ask for it to confirm you're the same person. |
