Continuous Rejection: Automated System Fails to Parse Non-English Official Transcript #204307
🏷️ Discussion TypeQuestion 💬 Feature/Topic AreaVerification Help & Guidance Hi everyone,I have been trying to verify my student status for the GitHub Student Developer Pack but my application is being repeatedly rejected by the automated system. I have ensured that:
The core issue seems to be that my document is an official Turkish high school transcript (e-okul system). The automated OCR system is failing to parse the table formatting, the Turkish characters, the local date format, and the long official name of my school. It throws a generic blanket rejection stating it cannot find my name, date, or school, even though they are all clearly visible on the high-quality image. Since the automated verification cannot process this standard non-English document, could I please request a manual review of my application? I am fully prepared to provide any additional proof needed. Thank you! |

How to Solve the GitHub Student Developer Pack Verification IssueIf your application for the GitHub Student Developer Pack is being repeatedly rejected by the automated system due to document formatting or OCR limitations, you can use the following step-by-step solutions to resolve the issue: 1. Upload the Original PDF Instead of a PhotoAutomated OCR systems often struggle with photos of physical documents taken with a camera (even high-resolution ones like your Canon R50) due to lighting, angles, or paper texture.
2. Try Submitting an English Document (If Available)Local characters (such as ç, ş, ğ, ı, ö, ü) and Turkish date formats can occasionally break automated international verification pipelines.
3. Open a Support Ticket CorrectlyThe message you drafted is accurate and clear. However, you must ensure it is submitted directly through the proper support channel:
4. Prepare Secondary Proof (Student ID)If a human support agent responds or requests further verification, be ready to provide alternative proof:
If this response or suggestion helps solve your issue, could you please mark it as the solution? Thank you so much for your help! |

Hello GitHub Support Team, I am currently trying to verify my student account but facing continuous issues with your automated verification system. I am on vacation in Feni city right now, and my original hardcopy documents are left behind in Chittagong. I tried taking photos of my scanned documents using another device, but your system is failing to capture and accept them. Since I do not have the physical documents on hand to use with the live camera capture, I have attached all my University of Chittagong verification documents directly to this email. Could you please review the attached files and manually verify my account? Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you, |

Thank you for the detailed suggestions and your help!
Regarding your first point about uploading a PDF: The application page strictly opens my device's camera and forces a live capture. There is no "Upload" or "Choose File" button available on my end at all, so I cannot submit a digital PDF.
Additionally, my official school-issued email address is already linked and verified on my GitHub account, but the automated system still repeatedly rejects my application.
Since the automated OCR is consistently failing to read my official Turkish documents (despite taking high-resolution photos of the physical paper), I will go ahead and open a manual support ticket for a human review as you suggest…
