Re-verification/Repeat Application

Hi everyone,

GitHub username: wojciechthomas

Issue:

Faculty benefits were verified multiple times previously:

• May 9, 2025
• February 27, 2026
• August 19, 2026

On August 19, 2026 the application was first marked:

"Verified (benefits available)"

with expiration August 19, 2028.

A few hours later the same application became:

"Rejected"

with the sole reason:

"Your access has been revoked."

The page simultaneously displays:

"You have a current faculty coupon applied."

and

"Rejected - your access has been revoked."

The application button is now locked and reapplication is impossible.

This appears to be an account-state inconsistency rather than a faculty verification failure. Could GitHub Education staff review the account status?

I am having the exact same issue. I was approved on August 13, and then had two rejections on August 14, with the same meaningless reason. I cannot resubmit with different documentation, and no reason for the revocation is given.

New semester is coming and my GitHub Education account is still locked. No one cares.

I have received 2 emails from GitHub stating everything is ok with my account, while my application is rejected, and the "Start application button" is inactive.

It looks like a bot that sends me a weekly notification: "Everything is OK", while my account remains in a locked state, never interacted with by any support.

My account seems to have been fixed, for the moment. I went ahead and added new organizations for fall courses to Github Education, and those requests went though without an issue, and then my account suddenly seemed to say I was no longer rejected. I don't know if this might work for you/others, but thought I'd share it, since Github apparently isn't going to respond to this topic...

I have upgraded one of my previous year Organizations to Team plan, and as you mentioned, and now my Billing and Licencing > Education benefits become Verified with today's date (I have checked it a few minutes ago, and my account has still displayed Rejected status).
