That redirect is not the documented renewal flow. GitHub's current instructions say an eligible user should sign in, open https://github.com/settings/education/benefits, select Start an application, complete the form, and submit it. A redirect from that button to the general Pricing page leaves no user-side way to supply the requested reverification. Before escalating, verify three low-risk account-state items: you are signed into the same personal account named in the email; that account has no second GitHub account holding the academic email or benefit; and the Education settings page still shows the revocation/reverification notice after a clean browser session. Record the UTC time, source URL, final redirect URL, and a screenshot that does not expose documents or email addresses. Then use https://support.github.com/contact/education and describe this specifically as a broken Education application entry point, not as a request for manual approval. Only GitHub can reset an account-specific eligibility/application state. Do not upload academic documents to this public discussion. |

Adding that as a faculty member, I'm hitting a somewhat similar issue where the "Start an application" button is disabled for me. See #207025 |

Hi GitHub Support Team, I would like to provide an update regarding my GitHub Education reverification issue. The problem is still occurring as of September 18, 2026. My Education Benefits page shows that my student benefits were revoked and that academic reverification is required. However, when I click “Start an application”, I am redirected to the general GitHub Pricing page instead of the GitHub Education application/reverification form. According to GitHub's current documentation, the expected process is: In my account, the application form never opens, so I currently have no way to submit updated academic documentation or complete the requested reverification. I have also documented the issue in the GitHub Community here: Could the GitHub Education team please check whether my account's Education eligibility/application state is stuck and reset or reopen the Education application flow if necessary? I am happy to provide my current enrollment documentation privately through the official verification process once the application form becomes accessible. Thank you very much for your assistance. Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,

My GitHub Education benefits were revoked on September 13, 2026 because my academic status requires reverification. I also received an “Academic Reverification Required” email asking me to reverify within 30 days.
On my Education Benefits page, my status is shown as Revoked. However, when I click the green “Start an application” button, I am redirected to github.com/pricing instead of the GitHub Education student reverification form.
Because of this, I am unable to submit a new application or provide updated academic information for reverification.
I have also tried accessing the Education application flow directly, but I still cannot reach the reverification form.
Expected behavior:
Clicking “Start an application” should open the GitHub Education application/reverification form.
Actual behavior:
I am redirected to the general GitHub Pricing page.
I am still currently enrolled as a student and can provide valid academic documentation through the appropriate private verification process if required.
Has anyone encountered the same issue, or is there a way to reset/reopen the Education reverification flow for my account?
Thank you!
