How long until my Github Sponsors is approved?

I have submitted my application for Github sponsors about 24 hours ago. It says "This GitHub Sponsors profile is waiting to be reviewed by GitHub." Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? I am an active member of the Github community with a special emphasis on publishing, sharing and tracking my own research.

Edit: By the way, as of 16/10/2026, it still says "This GitHub Sponsors profile is waiting to be reviewed by GitHub."

Edit 2: I finally decided to open a support ticket here. More than 3 weeks of waiting yet GitHub did not approve my Sponsors.

@toraneh 24 hours is still normal. The docs say "it may take a few days for GitHub to review your application". They don't mention any way to speed it up.

While you wait, make sure everything on the setup page is done, since the profile goes live automatically once it's approved: profile and tiers, bank and tax information, and two-factor authentication.
